The 2008 Bumper to Bumper Late Models rules
The Bumper to Bumper Late Models are designed so you our local Late Model racer can also run a sanctioned ASA Late Model event. Monroe Motor Speedway is a weekly race track and we have to adjust some rules to make the Bumper to Bumper Late Models a competitive class. Monroe Motor Speedway reserves the right to change any rule in this division to help our local racers. Our weekly racing rules will always over ride the ASA rules.
Monroe
Speedway tire rule- You must run the Goodyear tire.(D2477) (D2678) or the new (D2878) If you have any tire damage you must report it to the tech man so he can approve and re-stamp the new tire.
Tire Softeners- All softeners are illegal. You will be suspended for 2 weeks, fined and all points will be reset to zero if found with any kind of softeners. Any tire in question will be sent to Goodyear racing for inspection. A 68 durometer is required.
Monroe
Speedway qualifying- 2 laps, your best lap is recorded. The tires you qualify on, you must race one.
#2-The fastest time get the pole with slower cars to the back of the field.
#3-For the dash and heat races the slow cars will be up front.
Points-The fast Dash is cash only. Heat (50 points to win) and feature will be cash and points.(100 points to win) all positions drop 5 points on down.
Scanners-All driver who compete at Monroe Motor Speedway must have a working scanner for tower to communicate with you. 467.600
Radios are allowed- All drivers must have a spotter report to the spotters stand for all feature events. NO EXCEPTIONS
No Mirrors permitted-Unless an ASA sanctioned event.
6300 chip-This is given to each driver before the feature.
TECH-The top three finishers must report to the tech garage for tech inspection. If you drive by tech you are disqualified. If you are found illegal you will lose points and money for the complete night. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Spin rules-If you are spun by another driver for any reason you will get your spot back. If you spin another driver or bring out a caution for any reason you will be put to the tail of the field.
Under caution-Any driver who has damage or needs to change a tire you will have 70 seconds from the moment you stop at the back wall.
Pit area-You may set up a temporary pit stall up on the back wall.
Monroe Motor Speedway is a 3/8 mile concrete surface. 68 feet wide

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing
events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the
condition of all events, and, by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied
with these rules. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM
PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESEE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are
intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a
participant, spectator or official. The Competition Committee shall be empowered to permit minor
deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not
alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY
SHAL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OR SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of
these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decisions are final.
Regulations and specifications set forth herein are automatically amended by revisions contained in
subsequent Official Entry Blanks or Official Technical Bulletins issued by the ASA Late Model Series LLC
or in the “Rulebook Revisions” section on the website, www.asalatemodels.com.
All specifications and regulations contained herein are subject to deletions, additions and/or verbal
directive of the Competition Committee without prior notification.
Failure to comply with theses General Procedures and Rules will subject the entrant to fines; loss of
points; loss of purse monies; probation; and/or suspension at the discretion of ASA LMS Officials.

A. Licensing and Registration
1. Any person who desires to participate in an ASA Late Models Series (ASA LMS) Sanctioned event as
a car owner, driver, mechanic, crew member, ASA LMS official, sponsor, manufacturer representative or
in a role of support personnel must apply for, receive and possess a valid and current ASA LMS license
or ASA LMS credential authorizing participation in that capacity. License or credentials must be visible at
all times.
2. An ASA LMS license is non-transferable and non-assignable. Only the member to whom it is issued
may use it. If a licensee intentionally or unintentionally assigns or otherwise permits another person or
entity to use or attempt to use the licensee’s license, then the licensee shall be subject to disciplinary
action and shall indemnify and hold harmless ASA LMS from any loss or expense incurred by ASA LMS
as a result. Once a license is issued to an individual, regardless of who pays for the license, the license
is the property of that individual. (Example: Tom the car owner buys Fred the crew chief a license and
two races later, Fred quits, is fired or dies. The license issued in Fred’s name cannot be transferred,
refunded or applied to any other individual.)
3. Drivers and crew members are required to sign the appropriate release and registration forms plus pay
pit pass fees before being allowed into pit area. Team members are encouraged to carefully read all
material before signing. Drivers and crewmembers are responsible for finding out about each track’s rain
date policies and rain check pit fee policies.
4. Pit fees and policies may vary at ASA LMS Sanctioned venues. ASA LMS members should be
prepared to comply with these policies.
SECTION 1 - GENERAL RULES – ALL DIVISIONS

B. Personal Conduct
Car or team owners will be held responsible for the behavior of the driver, crewmembers and any other
personnel connected with that team. Penalties may be enforced against entire team for conduct
infractions committed by any one member. PROPER BEHAVIOR REQUIRED AT, BUT NOT LIMITED
TO THE RACE TRACK, GROUNDS, SPOTTERVILLE OR ANY AREA DETERMINED BY ASA LMS
OFFICALS.
A. Unsportsmanlike conduct such as hand gestures, foul language, throwing of objects, on-track
retaliations or visual display of bad temper by drivers or their crew will result in appropriate
penalties.
B. Fighting is strictly prohibited. An owner, driver or crewmember initiating or participating in a fight
may cause the team(s) loss of points; purse/point money accumulated by team(s) and may result in
disqualification or suspension of team(s) or individual(s) at the discretion of ASA LMS officials.
a.Verbal abuse or physical threats made to ASA LMS officials, track employees, fans, fellow
competitors, etc. by any owner, driver or crewmember, will not be tolerated and will result in
appropriate penalties.
b.Deliberate reckless behavior by owners, drivers, crewmembers or other team members, on or
off track, endangering the safety of officials, track crews or fans, will result in penalties at the
discretion of ASA LMS.
Consumption or use of drugs and/or alcohol prior to and/or during ASA LMS Sanctioned events is
prohibited. Alcohol consumption in the pit/paddock is prohibited at any time by officials, drivers,
crew members or car owners while representing ASA LMS or wearing ASA LMS logo items.
Participation in all autograph sessions is mandated for teams at each sanctioned event. Teams
participating will receive five (5) additional Championship Points for participation. All drivers are expected
to exhibit professional and courteous behavior toward fans; series sponsors; potential sponsors; and/or
any media present.
Drivers and teams must shut off engines and stop movement of cars and personnel during the playing of
the National Anthem and during drivers meetings, crew chief meetings and spotters meetings.
Injuries incurred to drivers and/or crewmembers during the course of the racing program must be reported
to ASA LMS Safety Director and/or track officials before leaving the premises. Failure to do so may result
in loss of ASA LMS insurance coverage for that event.
B.1 Pit Area Clean-up
Team Owner’s shall be held responsible for removal of their team’s debris left at the race track at the end
of an event.
1. Track Testing
Testing at any track on the current ASA LMS schedule is prohibited within ten (10) calendar days of a
scheduled ASA LMS event, without permission from the ASA LMS Office. Any driver; team owner; crew
member and/or car that practices or tests, without permission from the ASA LMS Office, at a track on the
current ASA LMS schedule within the stated “no testing” time frame will be deemed ineligible for
competition at that venue for the season. Additional penalties may be assessed at the discretion of ASA
LMS. Exception – if a team owner; driver; and/or crewmember is a registered participant in a weekly
division at any track on the ASA LMS schedule. Promotional events; open test dates; etc. must be
cleared through the ASA LMS Office.
2. Minimum Age Requirements
Minimum age for competitors in the ASA LMS shall be thirteen (13) years of age. All competitors,
regardless of age must have a minimum of one-year (1) of competition in an a Late Model Series type
car; a weekly local track Late Model program; other approved touring sanctioning body cars or trucks; and

subject to approval by the ASA LMS Competition Committee. All competitors maybe
required to take a written and/or driving ability test under the guidance of the ASA LMS Competition
Committee.
Competitors under eighteen (18) years of age must have on file in the ASA LMS Office a signed Parental
Release Form and Parental Hold Harmless document.
3. Rookie Eligibility
Drivers competing for the ASA LMS “Rookie of the Year” award must do and meet the following criteria.
The decision regarding Rookie Eligibility is at the discretion of ASA LMS. All decisions are final and
binding and not subject to appeal.
A. The Rookie of the Year Award will be presented to the registered driver. The monies and
other awards will be presented to the registered car Owner(s)
B. The ASA LMS Rookie of the Year title will be awarded to the driver who, in a single points
season fulfills and meets all minimum requirements
C. Rookie of the Year applicants must
a. Register, have a valid ASA LMS driver and/or Owner Competition license
b. If requested submit to and pass a driving a Rookie Orientation Course
c. Have not participated in more than seven (7) ASA LMS sanctioned events in a
season or made more than ten (10) career ASA LMS Main Event starts
d. Have not won an ASA LMS sanctioned Main Event
e. Have not won Rookie of the Year awards; monies; or contingency awards from
any Touring Sanctioning bodies.
f. Have not won a Championship in any other Touring Sanctioning Body
g. Must have competed in not less than 80% of registered division events.
A Rookie of the Year participant may withdraw from the by submitting in writing a “Request to Withdraw”
to ASA LMS Office. Drivers formally withdrawing retain their Rookie of the Year eligibility.
4. Driver and Crew Chief Meetings
Attendance at all driver and crew chief meetings is mandatory. ASA LMS will notify drivers and Crew
Chiefs in advance, of time and place where the drivers’ meetings will occur. Roll call will be taken.
Drivers and Crew Chiefs are responsible for conveying any new or important information discussed during
these meetings to their crews and car owner. These meetings are for Driver’s and Crew Chiefs or their
designee with pre-approval by ASA LMS Tech Director.
5. Transponders
The ASA LMS uses the AMB Transponder System for electronic scoring at each event, including
Practice; Qualifying; GM Performance Parts Shootout; and Main Event. All registered Teams must have
an AMB Transponder installed on their car prior to any “hot-track” activity. AMB Transponder may
be purchased during Event Registration.
Transponder mount shall be on the left side of the car; forty-one inches (41”) from the rearward edge of
the 2” x 3” mid- section or rear cross member (A), immediately behind the driver seat; on the inside of the
rail in a vertical position (B).

6. Technical Inspection
ASA LMS Officials reserve the right to inspect any ASA LMS race car at any time during ASA LMS
Sanctioned event. Officials reserve the right to confiscate any part and/or equipment failing to meet
applicable ASA LMS specifications. Once a car has been presented for Practice Inspection, no change of
car ownership or car number is permitted, without prior approval from the ASA LMS Tech Director.
Safety inspection is mandatory prior to participation in any on-track activities. Safety Data Sheets
are required to be fill-out and return to ASA LMS Officials prior to any hot track activity at any ASA
LMS Sanctioned event. Safety Inspections are mandatory and include driver uniforms; helmets; head
and neck restraints; seats and seat mounting; and other identified safety related items. Safety violations
will deem the car/driver ineligible for any on-track activity until violation is corrected. Any safety equipment
found in violation of ASA LMS rules will be confiscated. These sheets must be signed and dated by a
team representative, crew chief or car owner.
Car(s) involved in on-track incidents, where structural damage is noted, must be inspected by the ASA
LMS Tech Dir prior to returning to on-track activities. ASA LMS Accident Investigation Team may
impound the car for in-depth inspection.
It is the responsibility of the Car Owner and/or Crew Chief to be sure your car is presented for qualifying
tech in a race ready condition.
a. Practice Technical Inspection is not mandatory
b. A mandated specific time will be posted for distribution of Crane Ignition Systems.
c. The Tech Area will be set-up with scales; all templates; ride height gauges etc. and will be
available for team use at any time up until Qualifying Tech Inspection
d. The Tech Area will not be staffed with ASA LMS personnel until Qualifying Tech Inspection,
however ASA LMS technical personnel will be available at all times to answer your technical
questions During Qualifying Tech, cars with violations will be given the option to repair
discrepancies or add the appropriate weight depending upon violation.
e. Cars found in violation will be removed from the Tech line to make repairs or add weight and then
MUST LINE UP AT THE REAR OF THE QUALIFYING TECH LINE REGARDLESS OF
QUALIFYING POSITION. NO LINE CUTTING TO MAKE QUALIFYING POSITION IS
PERMITTED.
g. Minimum time for Qualifying Technical Inspection will be one and one-half hours (1 ½ hrs) prior
to Qualifying depending on car count
Qualifying Inspection is mandatory prior to making a Qualifying attempt. Cars will be impounded
immediately following a qualifying attempt, where only tire pressures and temperatures and tape removal
are permitted.
Post-Qualifying or GMPPShootout Inspection: May consist of cars qualified in Positions 1 thru 20.
Post-Qualifying infractions will subject the Team(s) to penalties and/or fines at the discretion of ASA LMS
Officials.
Post Main Event Inspection: Minimum of the event Winner plus up to four (4) random place finishers
from positions two (2) through twenty (20) may be inspected. Cars selected for all Post Event
inspections, are required to re-set tire pressures to manufacturers recommended cold tire pressures prior
to scaling the car. Re-fueling the car to within one-pound (1) of Pre-Qualifying weight is mandated.
Multiple day events require mandatory Pre-Race Inspection prior to presenting the car to the starting grid.

7. A Crew Uniforms
All teams competiting in either the GM Performance Parts Shootout or the Main Event at all Challenge
Division events must be in a professional appearing team uniform with all mandated ASA LMS patches in
place.

Team uniforms are mandated for Pre-Qualifying Tech Inspection. Blue jeans, shorts, open toe shoes,
halter tops or tank tops are not considered proper attire and are not permitted in the pit area.
8. Spotters
Spotters are mandatory for all ASA LMS hot track activities, except Qualifying. The Team Owner is
responsible for Registering a Spotter by name with The Series prior to the beginning of hot track activity.
Spotters are mandated to check-in with the ASA LMS Spotter Official, in the designated Spotters stand, a
minimum of ten minutes (10 min) prior to Practice; GM Performance Parts Shootout Event and/or
Main
Event race. Each team is required to have an ASA LMS licensed spotter during all on track activity
except for qualifying. Each team is allowed only one ASA LMS licensed spotter in the designated
Spotters Stand area.
Teams without Spotters will be black flagged or held in the Pit Area until such time as Spotter is in place.
Team Spotters must have the Team Car Number displayed in the designated area as assigned by the
ASA LMS Spotter Official. Registered Spotters will be issued a badge with their car number on it.
Repeat offenders, not having a spotter in attendance during practice multiple times, will be subject the
Team(s) to disciplinary action, which will include being with held from a full practice session.
9. Qualifying Procedure
Qualification order will be determined by pill draw, (only the driver or his designee may draw) based on
Official Entry Form car number, held during the Driver’s Meeting at each ASA LMS sanctioned event. .
A team may practice and/or qualify one (1) car per sanctioned event. A car number and driver
combination having taken a qualifying attempt must be driven by the driver who made the qualifying
attempt.
First round qualifiers receive a two lap (2) attempt. Teams missing their Qualifying spot have five-minutes
(5 min) from the time their spot is called to make their qualifying attempt. If a team(s) misses the fiveminute
window they shall be deemed a Second Round Qualifier. Second Round qualifiers will receive
two qualifying (2) laps with the slower of the two (2) being the lap of record and shall start no higher than
eleventh (11) in the Main Event regardless of qualifying time or speed.
Once a car has completed a Qualifying attempt the car is considered Impounded and no changes are
permitted to be made to the car unless the care is involved in an on-track incident during Qualifying.
Teams are permitted to check tire pressures; temperatures and remove tape. No refueling of car is
permitted in impound, unless otherwise stated on the Entry Form or at Driver’s/Crew Chief Meetings.
Teams missing their qualifying position, without a verifiable electrical or mechanical problem and
approved by the ASA LMS Tech Director, are considered Second Round Qualifier; however these
teams still receive two (2) laps, the slowest of which will be the time used for Qualifying.
Once a car/driver has made a Qualifying attempt, no driver substitution and/or relief driver is permitted,
unless approved by ASA LMS.
Sticker tires are mandatory for Qualifying. Qualifying tires must be used to start the GMPPS or
Main

Unless otherwise stated at the Drivers Meeting, the fast qualifier will draw the inversion number
immediately following the completion of Qualifying. Inversion may be from six (6) to ten (10) spots.
Events where the Inversion Rule is not in use, the pole-winner will be given the choice of starting the
Main
Event from the inside or outside position.
A team may field a backup car during Practice or Qualifying with approval of the ASA LMS Tech Director
providing the primary car has suffered major chassis or structural damage; or engine failure.
a. Backup car must pass technical inspection before any on-track activity
b. Failure to present the car for technical inspection will result in immediate disqualification
c. If backup car is permitted, the driver forfeits starting position and starts the Heat Race(s);
GMPPShootout; and/or the Main Event at the rear of the field.
10. All Divisions Past Championships Provisional’s
Former Champions from USPro Series; ASA LMS; ASA Racing LLC; the American Speed Association; or
Southern All Star Series shall be entitled to two (2) additional provisional starts, a total of four (4)
maximum, for the Main Event.
A. Order of Provisional Starter are;
a. Former USPro Series Champion
b. Former ASA LMS Champion
c. Former ASA Racing LLC or the American Speed Association Champion
d. Former Southern All Star Champion
e. Former GMPPShootout Champion – one (1) additional Provisional
f. Current defending Champion in each Series receives the Past Champions Provisional.
11. GM Performance Parts Shootout (GMPPS) (All Divisions)
Cars not qualifying for the “Main Event” are eligible to run the GM Performance Parts Shootout (GMPPS).
The GMPPS shall be a maximum of twenty-Five (25) lap race with Car Owner/Driver Points awarded as
described in Section Distribution of Points and Awards of the ASA Late Model Series Rulebook.

12 Points Distribution and Awards (All Divisions)
ASA LMS maintains Driver Point Standings for general publication as criterion for distribution of awards
other than General Point Funds. To be eligible for any monetary General or Driver Point Funds a team(s)
must have participated in a minimum of eighty-percent (80%) of each registered Divisional events
General point fund disbursement are based on Car Owner Point Standings, points credited to the Ownerof-
record of the car, regardless of the different drivers who have competed in the car during the point
season. Participation in a sanctioned event is defined as an active attempt to compete in the scheduled
Event. (i.e. payment of entry fee; signing into the pit area; presenting a racecar for technical inspection)
A. Contingency program awards will be paid or presented to the car Owner-of-Record
a. Halfway-Leader awards, when offered, are awarded to the leader of the race under green-flag
conditions at the midpoint of the event. In the event of caution at the midpoint, the car leading
after completion of five (5) consecutive green-flag laps following the caution period, will receive
the award(s)

b. The Official Starting Lineup determines official starting position of record for each event. A car
dropping to the rear of the field for any reason at the start of an event will reflect a starting position
as shown on the Official Starting Lineup.
C. Additional cars are added to the starting field, beyond those listed on the Official Entry Blank,
receive no fewer points than the last starting position
D. If at the completion of the season, a tie occurs in the season long Championship Points Standings
the following criteria will be used to determine Championship or other Official finishing positions
a. First tie breaker … total number of victories
b. Second tie breaker … highest accumulated finishes throughout the season i.e. 2nd’s;
3rd’s; 4th’s; 5th’s etc
c. Third tie breaker … the individual who achieved the highest finishing position first will
receive the higher points position

13. Protests – All Divisions
All protests must be filed in the following formats
13.1 Mechanical Protests – Post Event Only
These protests must be filed with the Technical Director; or Director of Operations within ten (10) minutes of the
completion of the Main Event and may include teams not selected for Post Event Technical Inspections based
on qualifying results. Only registered or licensed car Owners and/or Drivers may lodge a mechanical protest. All
protests must be in writing and include a specific description of item being protested. Only one (1) mechanical
item per protest will be accepted. Multiple items protested, require multiple written protests of each item. A Five
Hundred Dollar ($500.00) cash bond is required for each mechanical protest. If Protest is upheld the cash bond
returned. If the Protest is denied the cash bond is kept by ASA LMS
13.2 Scoring protests – Post Event Only
Those protests challenging the finishing position of any car may not be filed until the Unofficial Results are

business day following the event. No scoring protests accepted once the Official Results are posted. Official
Results are posted at 4:00 o’clock p.m. on the first business day following the Event.
14 Fan Autograph Sessions
Autograph sessions are mandatory for all Event competitors. Event Teams must present their car and driver to
the grid at the stated time and location, on the Official Entry form. Event teams failing to participate in this
session lose Five (5) Bonus Appearance Points.

Section 3 Challenge Division Race Procedure
Race procedure is defined as the manner in which an Event is conducted. It includes but is not limited to
eligibility of cars for competition; qualifying procedures; the lineup cars; the use of Heat Races to determine
starting positions; the start of the race; control of the cars throughout the race by flags, lights or other direct
communication between ASA LMS officials and competitors; the election to stop or delay a race; position of cars
at any time; assessment of lap or time penalties and the completion of the event.
ASA LMS Officials may take whatever action deemed appropriate to further the interest of fairness and finality in
competition results. Such action includes, but is not limited to, reversing the official race results, imposing
penalties (disqualification, suspension, probation or fines), or awarding or subtracting points.
All events MAY utilize a double-file start until there are thirty (30) laps left in the event at which time re-starts are
single-file. At the start of the race, and on all re-starts, the Pace Car and Pole sitter set the pace speed, as
announced at the drivers’ meeting. Re-start order is be based on the last completed green flag lap scored.
Cars involved in on-track incidents or failing to tail the car immediately in front of them must re-start at the end of
the field. Failure to heed the “layover flag”, a blue flag with yellow diagonal strip; or failure to yield a furled black
flag to move out the way of on coming faster cars; will subject lapped cars to penalty or off-track consultation
and potential pulling of timing and scoring cards.
The Race Director has the discretion to call a caution after the White Flag has been displayed. Under this
condition, the lap count is held and the race will re-start with a Green, White, and Checkered flag finish.
Do not race back to the yellow flag (start/Finish line). EXCEPTION: when the White Flag had been displayed
