All the classes you see below are intended to give families an opportunity to get started in racing. We will start our classes at 5 years old and up. All classes will be trophy classes with the exception of special events that will offer cash purses. Aggressive driving will not be tolerated in anyway. Anyone racing under the age of 18 must have a parent sign the waiver each week.

MSK TIRE RULE- everyone must use the Burris SS-55 tire. Tire warmers can be used but no soaking of any kind.

Safety- Anyone competing at MSK must use a neck brace, racing gloves and an approved chest protector. Racing suites are not mandatory but recommended. All drivers must have a snell-approved helmet, no open face helmets and absolutely no motorcycle or dirt bike helmets.

Kids class- age 3-7. Anyone who races in this class will go home with a trophy regardless where they finish. Everything on this Kart must remain stock. No modifications at all. Lets the kids learn.

Engine- comer 50-51cc only. No modifications at all.

Carb - Dellorto SHA 14-12L, .475 No Go Venturi must be jetted between 54 and 58. No boring of jets in any manner. No altering
of carburetor to include emulsion tube in any way. Intake manifold may not be modified in any way. Intake Gasket must be properly installed, only one gasket allowed, you are allowed to trim intake gasket to match intake port opening. Stock muffler from original manufacturer must be used. New or Old Style Mufflers allowed, only two holes with a vertical measurement no greater than .110 and a horizontal measurement no greater than .475. One exhaust gasket, no cut gaskets, exhaust system must be tight. No filing holes to square dimensions and no manufactured air leaks. No offset karts. Seat must not be offset beyond the outside edge of the left frame rail.

The wheelbase must be a minimum of 29" to a maximum of 31". Width of front must not be more than 40" as measured to the
outside of the rims of the front tire. The rear must be a minimum of 39" to a maximum of 42" as measured to the outside of the
rims of rear tires. The rear bumper must be a continuous loop shape and must protect the rear tires.

The steering height must not exceed 20 inches

The seat height must not exceed 12 inches

Side pods and nose cones are mandatory, Tires are open compound and may not exceed 33 in circumference. 5 tires only 4.5s/4.6

Rear axle must not extend past the outside edge of the rim.

The chain guard is to completely cover the chain when viewed from above.

Added weights must be either double nut and / or safety wire and be painted white.

All bolts and nuts on the kart must be properly tightened and secured.

Rookie- This class is for ages 7-12.

Kart and driver must weigh a minimum of 265lbs. as they exit the track after a race.

Briggs and Stratton stock 5hp engine except must run a .425 (purple) restrictor plate. MSK will enforce the spec tire rule in this class. Burris SS-55 tires only. The fuel is clear methanol. Kart must have bodywork.

Chest Protectors: Chest Protectors meeting SFI Specification 20.1 are mandatory for all drivers in all classes.

Junior Oval- This class is for ages 12-15.

Kart and driver must weigh a minimum of 300lbs. as they exit the track after a race.

Briggs and Stratton stock Raptor engine with a .575 (gold) restrictor plate. We will enforce the spec tire rule in this class. Burris SS-55 tires only.

The fuel is clear methanol.

Kart must have bodywork.

Chest Protectors: Chest Protectors meeting SFI Specification 20.1 are mandatory for all drivers in all classes.

Senior oval- This class is for ages 15 and older.

Kart and driver must weigh a minimum of 375lbs. as they exit the track after the race.

Kart maximum weight is 200lbs.

Briggs and Stratton stock 5hp engine.

We will enforce the spec tire rule in this class. Burris SS-55 tires only.

The fuel is clear methanol. No additives.

Kart must have bodywork. Steering fairing allowed.

Chest Protectors: Chest Protectors meeting SFI Specification 20.1 are mandatory for all drivers in all classes. All classes above will follow the WKA rules. If you are a beginner in any class and need advice please call the tech inspector. DON'T ASSUME. We are making Monroe Speedway Karting fun and exciting for the whole family.
