Good News for Monroe Motor Speedway

Results from the Open Meeting on February 21, 2010 to save Monroe Motor Speedway
First and foremost on the behalf of the board of directors of the speedway, I want to personnlly say a big Thank You to those of you who showed up to the meeting today! I think we made a huge step in the right direction on many levels!
We set a positive, united tone for the new board. The drivers expressed some concerns that we as a board will be able to take into consideration. We were able to put an offer on the floor that rewarded the drivers for their contributions towards the track (which I will discuss further in a minute). We answered the questions and concerns of the drivers, etc in an open format with honest answers. We laid out a plan of action (to be discussed further in a minute) for the drivers allowing them to see that we are serious about racing and want to the speedway to be sucessful. And we just communicated in general which has not been done effectively in the past! All in all it was a great meeting!

Gus Campbell announced that Rusty Marcus will be returning as the Race Promotor for the track.

Bradley Drell is the bankruptcy atty who will be handling the bankruptcy. He was at the meeting and explained the process of the bankruptcy and how we can make this work and that it is a viable option.
Mistie talked about the current working plan which is listed below:
All collections of money need to be turned in no later than Tuesday, February 23, 2010 to Gus Campbell or one of the above board of directors.
We plan to pay the retainer fee to Bradley Drell on February 26, 2010.
Chapter 11 Bankruptcy should be filed on March 2, 2010 and the track will be back in the possession of the speedway.
The week of March 8, 2010 we should be able to begin some type of practice. The practices will be announced and communicated to in advanced.
April 17, 2010 first race night!!!!!!!!
During the month of March we will begin cleaning the facility and preparing it for racing.
We will also begin aggressivly contacting companies for sponsorships.
As a board, we are looking at making the facility a multi-functional facility. We will begin to market the facility to different organizations as a venue for entertainment.

The offer that the board placed on the table today we have extended to NOON on Tuesday, February 23, 2010! The offer is:
Pit Pass for the year $500 (this is a discounted offer)
Pit Stalls for the year $100 (the regular cost will be $150 this year)
Thanks again for your support today! I am looking forward to personally meeting each and every one of you this racing year! I am very excited about this racing season!
